Hello! I thought I'd help people with, misprints on cards. This is a guide on misprints, not complete. If you think you have found another type of misprint, not stated, post it. This guide is for ANY Dragon Ball Z card produced. Dragon Ball GT also applies to this thread.
I will update this to include pictures, in the future.
Ink Spots/Ink Dots/Ink Circles
This is a common misprint were the ink is not layered correctly. You can find cards like this on eBay, all the time. As far as dbz cards with ink spots, just a common misprint.
Up to the buyer to determine if it is worth the extra bucks. The same goes for all misprints. Although, some misprints are so scarce on certain cards making a rare card possibly one of a kind.
Lines going through cards/foils
This is a controversial misprint. The reasons it is controversial is, this could be a packaging misprint or tampered card. There are a couple cards that can pass with this misprint, as being real. Some cards that would be considered real are, cards that the ink was layered over the holofoil. Meaning, if the holofoil is offset and the holofoil can be shown under the ink, it's real.
Non-foil cards don't pass as misprints. Solid foil cards with a line through, the foil are questionable. The line has to offset the foil pattern. Like a Frieza saga card with the holofoil circles offset.
Albino cards
Albino cards are black and white, No other colors. Cards missing color but, still have other colors are usually sun faded. Some test sheets may have been done in certain colors, not black and white.
Score/Limited edition position
This is offset but, no one pays attention to the placement of the score emblems. There is no known position that would be correct. This could be considered a minor misprint.
Some Dbz cards have no Score emblem.
There's others that only part of the Score emblem was printed.
Misaligned holofoils
Since most DBZ cards are full holofoils, the misprints with the line through the card, are misaligned. The only way to prove it, is to have a imperfection in the detail. Very small imperfections are usually not considered misprints. Unless that imperfection can be seen through, the whole card.
The DBZ cards that are partial holofoils would be offset differently. The holofoil is usually based on a picture, in the card. The holofoil has to be noticeably offset from this picture. A small paper thin line offset, does not count.
Slight Miscut/Major Miscut
These are major miscut cards.
Slight miscut cards would be a card without another attached. As in, centimeters/centimeter width size of a black border.
Improper Label - No Label
There are some cards missing very crucial information, similar to missing Score emblem. Some cards were printed without the number on the top, to indicate what set it's from.
No Back - No Front - Half Albino
This would be considered a half Albino. I have not seen one but, they should exist.
This list is ongoing. Please, post additional misprints for consideration.
